Barack Obama - A man who has ditched many long-time associates (pastors included) because they were hindering his campaign.
or
John McCain - A man who refused an offer to be released from the prisoner of war camp early, because other Americans had been held longer than he. McCain suffered extreme torture because of this action.
or
Barack Obama - A man who refused to visit our injured soldiers because his press photographers were not allowed to go with him, instead Obama went to the gym to workout for a goodlooking female reporter.
Me, I want John McCain watching my back. He stands by his shipmates.

Clueless liberal wants a President that shifts in the wind, dancing to the latest popularity polls.
In other words,
he wants a President that follows the pollsters

Bush Will Issue a Mass Pardon (Brent Budowsky)
Before leaving office George W. Bush will issue a mass pardon, the largest collection of presidential pardons in American history. Bush will pardon himself, Vice President Cheney, and a long list of officials involved in torture, eavesdropping, destruction of evidence, the CIA leak case and a range of potential crimes.
****BullSh!t.
President Bush and the administration officials have acted with their lawful authority, the administration has notified Congress of its actions and Congress has supported those acts with funding.
Therefore, the actions were legal under US law.
Yes, the Bush administration,
like the JFK administration,
like the FDR Administration,
like the LBJ administration,
like the Wilson administration,
and like the Clinton administration
- has pushed the limits of US law in defending our nation and our national interests.
Yes, the Clinton administration - the group which wanted to/did read every e-mail that crossed the US.
Plus, the next administration, whether McCain or Obama, will defend the principal of Executive Privilege - because they will want to use it.

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property — either as a child, a wife, or a concubine — must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science — the science against which it had vainly struggled — the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.

The committee hosting the Democratic National Convention is using the city’s gas pumps to fill up on fuel, avoiding state and federal highway taxes, officials said today.
“There’s something there that just doesn’t seem right to me because, in a sense, you’re saying then that the officials who pass the laws are not willing to live by them, and that concerns me,†Councilwoman Jeanne Faatz said.
The issue came up during the council’s weekly meeting with Mayor John Hickenlooper when the Public Works Department requested authorization to be reimbursed by the Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee for use of “fueling facilities, fuel and car washes.â€
“By doing it this way, by running it through our Fleet Maintenance, that means that that fuel does not pay state or federal highway taxes,†Faatz said.
But of course dishonest Democrats cheating the public is not news, it is normal behavior for a Democrat.
If the Republicans attempted to do this - just the attempt would be a front page story across the nation.

ANDREA MITCHELL: Let me just say something about the message management. He didn't have reporters with him, he didn't have a press pool, he didn't do a press conference while he was on the ground in either Afghanistan or Iraq. What you're seeing is not reporters brought in. You're seeing selected pictures taken by the military, questions by the military, and what some would call fake interviews, because they're not interviews from a journalist. So, there's a real press issue here. Politically it's smart as can be. But we've not seen a presidential candidate do this, in my recollection, ever before.
BECAUSE SERIOUS PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES ARE NOT AFRAID OF THE PRESS LIKE THIS COWARD

Let's break this down:
Obama said that he "did not anticipate,
[Obama does not think or plan ahead]
and I think that this is a fair characterization,
[Obama agrees that he does not think]
the convergence of not only the surge but the Sunni awakening
[Obama - the Sunni Awakeing occurred after the surge, which you still oppose, kicked-in and proved the US was indeed the 'strong horse' that was going to stay and kick ass as long as needed.]
in the Shii’a community the militias standing down to some degrees.
[again the Shii'a like the Sunni, and like the slow learning Al Qeada - ran away from the 'strong horse']
Had those political factors not occurred, I think that my assessment would have been correct."
[You're ASSessment is correct - Obama, you are the horse's ass.]
and I think that this is a fair characterization,
[Obama agrees]

Wanat, where nine soldiers died defending liberty.
Where uncommon valor was the norm.
From an Stars and Stripes interview with a wounded soldier:
That was July 13. That was when Stafford was blown out of a fighting position by an RPG, survived a grenade blast and had the tail of an RPG strike his helmet.
.....
"I just hope these guys’ wives and their children understand how courageous their husbands and dads were," said Sgt. Jacob Walker. "They fought like warriors."

NYT REJECTS MCCAIN’S EDITORIAL; SHOULD ‘MIRROR’ OBAMA
Mon Jul 21 2008 12:00:25 ET
An editorial written by Republican presidential hopeful McCain has been rejected by the NEW YORK TIMES — less than a week after the paper published an essay written by Obama, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
The paper’s decision to refuse McCain’s direct rebuttal to Obama’s ‘My Plan for Iraq’ has ignited explosive charges of media bias in top Republican circles.
‘It would be terrific to have an article from Senator McCain that mirrors Senator Obama’s piece,’ NYT Op-Ed editor David Shipley explained in an email late Friday to McCain’s staff. ‘I’m not going to be able to accept this piece as currently written.’
In McCain’s submission to the TIMES, he writes of Obama: ‘I am dismayed that he never talks about winning the war—only of ending it... if we don’t win the war, our enemies will. A triumph for the terrorists would be a disaster for us. That is something I will not allow to happen as president.’
I guess the imperial masters at the New York Times do not consider Senator McCain's words 'fit to print'.
I suppose the NYT is afraid that if they print Senator McCain's words, everybody will learn that McCain would be a better President than Obama.

It only takes 1 Democrat Senator to vote with the Republicans and VP Cheney gets to cast the deciding vote.
Many Democrats had to campaign as moderates to win, which means in 2 years, they will again have to campaign as moderates to hold their seats.
We need to contact our Congresscritters - all 3 of them (YOUR Congressman, and YOUR 2 Senators) Tell them what you want. Keep telling them. Make sure your friends and neighbors are also telling them what to do.
During this upcoming 'lame duck' session - it is vital to press for what we want.
Then in January, the real work begins.
IMO:
Make the Bush Tax Cuts Permanent - I don't want to see a 30% increase in my taxes, I bet your liberal neighbors don't really want to pay higher taxes.
Don't Increase the Minimum Wage - This will REDUCE the number of jobs, causing lower employment, INCREASING entitlement payouts, DECREASING profits, FORECLOSING Small Businesses, LOWERING Tax Revenues.......[damn, this has been done]
A Recession or even a Depression, which the Democrats will try to blame on Bush.
Stay in Iraq, for as long as it takes - A major change in the number of US Troops - up or down - would be a mistake. The trouble in Iraq is concentrated in Baghdad. The SOLUTION in IRAQ will be created by the Iraqis, we must help them arrive at a solution. We must nudge them along in finding the solution, but it must be their solution.
Secure the Southern Border - This is the first step in dealing with illegal immigration. Deportation is a joke if our border is not secure. All other nations build walls/fences/barriers to secure their borders as required.

The US has been ordered not to execute five Mexican nationals on death row by the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
The ICJ - the UN's highest court - had previously ruled that the men were denied the right to help from their consulate after their arrests.
Mexico says the US has not reviewed the cases - as demanded by the ICJ.
The court told the US it must not execute the men before it made its final judgement.* * * *
Well, excuse me. The US Supreme Court has ruled that international treaties do not bind state courts. (Medellin v. Texas — not because state courts can’t be made to follow rulings by international tribunals but because Congress hasn’t yet passed any specific federal statute to make the Vienna Convention binding on them.)
We need to carry out these sentences in accordance with US law and ignore this interference with justice by the ICJ.

B O does not defend his stance, he always changes his stance, B O is a coward.
B O is too cowardly to admit the fact his mother was unwed at the time of his birth. But B O is stupid enough to lie about it.
B O has revised his view of Iraq, but the scary question is: If B O is elected - Would he safely withdraw our troops,
or
- Would him grossly over commit our troops and cause even more death?
That is the problem with B O, You have no idea of what he will do.
By the way, B O is a white man.

If Brett wants to play, he will be a Packer.
Green Bay is trying to avoid trouble by announcing Arron Rodgers as their starter.
If Brett wants to play, he can really help by coming into camp with the intention of helping Arron Rodgers.
Think of the practice the GB defense will get, with Brett running the scout team. A GB defense that works out against Favre.
To make this happen, Brett would have to truly show class. Brett would have to take the back seat, this will be real difficult for Brett.
Brett must think of the team, and not himself.
Yes, the Green Bay Packers have done Brett a favor.

That is crazy.
The child wants to be helpful. The child should be rewarded for picking up the nickel.
Why does the young mom want to make her child afraid of the 'dirty floor'?
A case of insane over-protection.
Let the child pick-up the dropped nickel, and praise the child for being helpful. In the long run, it will benefit the child more.

In Ripon, Wisconsin, anti-slavery activists met on February 28, 1854,
then held their first State Convention in Jackson, Michigan, JULY 6,
1854.
They named their party Republican, with the chief plank being "to
prohibit...those twin relics of barbarism: polygamy and slavery."
* * * * * *
Republicans have been for equal rights / civil rights for all, since they began.
Republicans oppose slavery.
Republicans oppose polygamy.
Hmmm,
Which group of people today, practice both polygamy and slavery? MOSLEMS hold slaves and encourage polygamy.
REPUBLICANS oppose both of those barbaric practices.
