The BS Against President Bush Continues

Bush Will Issue a Mass Pardon (Brent Budowsky)

@ 10:44 am

Before leaving office George W. Bush will issue a mass pardon, the largest collection of presidential pardons in American history. Bush will pardon himself, Vice President Cheney, and a long list of officials involved in torture, eavesdropping, destruction of evidence, the CIA leak case and a range of potential crimes.

****

BullSh!t.

President Bush and the administration officials have acted with their lawful authority, the administration has notified Congress of its actions and Congress has supported those acts with funding.

Therefore, the actions were legal under US law.

Yes, the Bush administration,

like the JFK administration,

like the FDR Administration,

like the LBJ administration,

like the Wilson administration,

and like the Clinton administration

- has pushed the limits of US law in defending our nation and our national interests.

Yes, the Clinton administration - the group which wanted to/did read every e-mail that crossed the US.

Plus, the next administration, whether McCain or Obama, will defend the principal of Executive Privilege - because they will want to use it.

(more below the fold)

Let's break down the charges:

Torture - The harsh methods used on a few. I am confident that Congress was informed before the methods were used.

Wiretapping - the wiretapping of international calls had oversight by Congress and the FISA Court. The program was modified several times to reduce the number of improper wiretaps.

CIA leak case - Richard Armitage, a State Dept. employee was the one who 'leaked' the information about the 'non covert' CIA employee.

Liberals can cry all they want. Bush has pushed the limits of the law, but did not break the law. And since he has not been impeached, he and the officials of his administration will not be charged.
Liberals can thank the poor leadership of Pelosi and Reid.

A strong Executive is needed to defend this nation.
