The Germans launched the 'Battle of the Bulge'.
They tried to retake Antwerp, and divide the Allies.
They ran into the 'Battling Bastards of Bastogne' aka the 101st Airborne.
The Germans had the 101st surrounded in Bastogne.
The Germans asked the 101st to surrender.
General McAuliffe reply was:
"Nuts"
